Who are Paws n Puddles?

We caught up with the lovely ladies, Jodie and Paige, at Paws 'n' Puddles to ask them a few questions. Paws 'n' Puddles are a dog walking and pet sitting company local to Balham.

So what are your backgrounds?

Both of us grew up in South West London, in the Furzedown area and we love how close and supportive our community is of one an other. We attended Graveney Secondary School were we met, became best friends and never looked back.

Then learning together, now working together. It’s been a great journey so far. How did you get into the pet sitting and dog walking business – have you always worked together?

We’ve always wanted to work together and knew it would be with animals - we couldn’t think of anything more rewarding. We both have previous experience in the Animal Industry but I was a special needs carer and Jodie was a head chef and carer for the elderly.

How does your business work? We are a small local community business and take bookings via phone, email or on our website contact form. We do love a chat on the phone but would ask for email as we are busy on adventure walks most of the day. We ask each client to fill out a pet profile answering all essential questions about your furry friend including emergency details. We will always arrange a suitable time for a meet and greet to swap friendly faces before any commitment is made – we feel this helps reduce anxiety for your companion and peace of mind for you. Viewing and last minute bookings are always welcome.

Are there any pets you wont look after? We haven’t had any unusual requests yet (apart from buddy the turtle – who was adorable) but we would definitely be open minded. I’m not saying I’d be jumping for joy if I had to spider sit but maybe Paige would be more enthusiastic. What makes Paws n Puddles different from any other pet service? We’re only a small local business, We build a relationship with not only every furry friend we care for but also their humans. We like to think that every client we have appreciates the time and effort we put in to make sure they’re guaranteed a peace of mind that their companion is well looked after. Including daily update reports and pictures.

What’s your favorite animal? Paige – I adore Elephants, they’re such social and loving animals. They’re even known to be one of the most intelligent creatures on this earth with complex emotion (similar to us humans) including joy, playfulness, grief and mourning.

Jodie – I absolutely love lion’s, there associated with pride, courage and strength. They’re very protective and have even been known to be heroic. Not forgetting the loudest roar, who wouldn’t be impressed? - It might explain the love I have for my six cats. What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened whilst looking after a pet/dog? Hands down has to be the story whilst at the common – with our gorgeous pack of dogs, they were having a crazy half hour chasing one an other, Paige thought she would get involved and ended up face first in the mud with the pooches jumping all over her – we are called Paws n Puddles after all. If only I had my camera that day. (Sorry Paige) Do you have any pets of your own? Paige – I have one handsome dog . Jodie on the other hand has three dogs, five crazy cats, one beautiful kitten and two terrapins. What can I say, call her the animal lady. It’s amazing in the morning and evening its like dinner time at the zoo, it fascinates me. Down to business – what are your rates? Dog walking from £10 Doggy daycare from £20 Dog boarding from £20 Pet/Cat sitting from £10 Quotes depend on client’s individual requirements, we will always discuss this before a meet and greet takes place. What can you see in the future for Paws n Puddles?

Were both so overwhelmed with happiness at how far we’ve come as a business and as best friends, we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Paws n Puddles, definitely amazing things. Believing and achieving – one paw at a time.
